Search and rescue workers from Madison Hose Co. No. 1 responded to a report of boaters in distress around 9:18 p.m. Friday. After launching from West Wharf and searching the Madison shoreline and the surrounding area in Long Island Sound for several hours, they returned to shore when they did not find any boaters in distress.
