responded to the scene of an overturned dump truck around 4:32 p.m. Monday.
The accident occured on I-95 Northbound between Exits 59 and 61.
The state Department of Transportation said that it was a tri-axle dump truck that hit the center divider and overturned, at one point blocking all lanes, with only the left shoulder getting by.
Madison Hose Co. No. 1 Captain Bob Kyttle said as of 5 p.m. the dump truck was still on its side and that one lane of traffic was open.
"It was carrying a full load of stone and dirt. That's covering the highway now," he said. "We're waiting for the DOT [state Department of Transportation] to arrive and clean up. There are no apparent injuries at this time."
Kyttle said the highway was reopened around 6:45 p.m.
