Jeffrey Hamburg Arrested And Charged With Larceny

Hamburg's arrest stems from a lengthy investigation into a larceny from a trust account, police said.

 

Jeffrey R. Hamburg turned himself in to the Madison Police Department Criminal Investigative Division Friday at 11 a.m. on an Arrest Warrant on for a violation of Connecticut General Statute 53a-122: Larceny in the First Degree, Madison police say.

Hamburg is formerly of Madison, Connecticut with a last known address of West Hartford, Connecticut. Hamburg’s arrest stems from a lengthy investigation into a larceny from a trust account, police said.

Hamburg was processed on the above listed charge and released on a $10,000.00 Bond.  Hamburg is scheduled to appear in G.A. 23, New Haven on May 22 at 9 a.m.

Madison police spokesman Police Officer Joseph Race declined to provide any additional information about the arrest.

The New Haven Register reports that Madison police are accusing Hamburg of stealing money from his daughter. Race told the New Haven Register that Hamburg was "calm" during his arrest.

Hamburg is the ex-husband of Barbara Hamburg, who was found murdered in March 2010. In September 2011, he was arrested and charged with first degree larceny.

Police in September said he was accused of stealing from a custodial account intended to pay for his children's college education.. In February of this year, Hamburg went to jail after failing to pay money he owed towards his ex-wife's estate.
