(UPDATED) Pedestrian From Grove School Struck By A Car

Accident occurred near Madison-Guilford line; Non-life-threatening injuries, police say

A pedestrian who appeared to be making an attempt to cross I-95 South near exit 60, by the Guilford town line, was clipped by a car and transported to the hospital Wednesday afternoon, state police say.

State police said initial reports indicate the accident victim was coming from the Grove School and that an emergency committal was made. They did not release the age or name of the victim, or of the person driving the car.

The Grove School is located at 175 Copse Road, close to I-95, in between exits 60 (Mungertown Road) and 61 (Route 79).

The accident occured around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday and traffic was backed up until the incident was cleared. State police say the victim sustained injuries, but that they appeared to be "extremely minor."
