Hit Man Claims False In Hamburg Slaying, Police Say
Madison police say prisoner's allegations that a hit man killed Barbara Hamburg are not true
Richard Shenkman's January allegations that the unnamed hit man he hired to kill his former wife may be responsible for the 2010 slaying of have been deemed false by the Madison police, the New Haven Register reported.
“He alleged to have knowledge of some information relating to the criminal investigation being conducted by this agency and other agencies and we went to determine the validity of it,” Chief John Drumm said in the article.

“At this point the information is patently false," Drumm told The Register. "It appears Mr. Shenkman is a very troubled man.”
According to the article, Shenkman was sentenced to 70 years in prison in January for kidnapping of his ex-wife, holding her hostage and for burning down their former South Windsor home in 2009.
