East Haven Armed Robbery: Bankers Offer Cash Reward for Info on Suspects

Connecticut Bankers Association is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest of suspects involved in Wednesday's armed robbery of the Wells Fargo bank on Hemingway Avenue.

 

A cash reward is now being offered for information that leads to the capture and arrest of the suspects involved in Wednesday's armed robbery of the Wells Fargo bank on Hemingway Avenue in East Haven.

The Connecticut Bankers Association, the lobbying group for financial instutions across the state, is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the suspects involved in the case, according to East Haven Police Sgt. David Emerman.

'A Silver Handgun'

The armed robbery ocurred Wednesday afternoon at about 2:40 p.m.

According to Emerman, bank employees reported that two males entered the bank demanding money. They then fled on foot towards Walgreens Pharmacy with an unknown amount of cash. 

"The suspects were wearing masks and gloves and one suspect displayed a silver handgun," Emerman stated in a press release.

He added that some of the cash was marked for destruction with a written message on the bills saying “good luck and congratulations," addressed to a local business. 

'Under Investigation'

"The suspects should be considered armed and dangerous," Emerman stated.

The incident remains under investigation.
