A note was written on a bathroom wall, according to state police Lt. J. Paul Vance. The incident happened around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Vance said.

School officials could not immediately be reached for comment.

Vance said state police continue to investigate whether the threat is credible or not.

Police meanwhile are also on the scene of a second bomb scare in Higganum, according to the Hartford Courant.

Vance said in the second incident, a town crew working on a storm drain on Beaver Meadow Road found what appeared to be a 12-inch pipe bomb. A state police bomb squad was sent to the scene, which was cleared by 2 p.m., Vance said.

He said investigators have not yet determined whether the pipe found by the workers was a pipe bomb.

It is not yet clear if the incidents are related.
