Bank Robbed in Westbrook; Suspect May be Connected to Durham Robbery

The robbery happened Monday afternoon at the First Niagara Bank.

State police are investigating the armed robbery of a First Niagara Bank in Westbrook that happened Monday afternoon.   

According to a State Police news release, a lone male suspect entered the 1238 Boston Post Road bank around 1:28 p.m. and displayed a handgun at the bank staff.   

Police did not detail how much money he made off with. No one was reported injured. 

Police said this suspect appears to be same suspect in bank robberies in Salem, Haddam, and Durham, police said. 

Reached by phone Monday, State Police spokesman Lt. J. Paul Vance told Patch There are similarities to the previous bank robbery but he could not go into too much detail given the investigation.
