A motor vehicle accident that appears to have involved two cars, reported around 8:17 a.m. Friday, delayed rush hour traffic Friday morning near the site of the accident, on I-95 Southbound near Exit 61.

As of 8:30 a.m., at least one emergency responder was already on the scene, and police and Madison ambulance appeared to be on their way.

At the scene, it appeared as though two cars traveled up the embankment, knocking down a pole that fell across most of two lanes. Traffic had to move into the breakdown lane to proceed. There was shattered glass all over.

Initial reports into Madison 911 indicated that there may have been injuries, but it was not clear what kind of injuries or how severe they were.
