Old Saybrook Farmers' Market Opens this Saturday, June 30th!

Old Saybrook Farmers' Market offers more than just fruits & veggies.....

The Old Saybrook Farmers' Market is opening this Saturday, June 30th for its 14th year!  We will be open Saturday's from 9:00am - 12:30pm & Wednesday's from 10:00am-1:00pm until October 31st

Over 20 of your favorite vendors, including a few new ones, will be there with their Connecticut grown/made items, guaranteed to fill any need you may have - fresh picked fruits & vegetables (conventional & organic), fresh baked items, free range eggs, fresh made canned goods, maple syrup, honey, ground coffee, seafood, beef, goat & cow milk/cheeses, handmade kettle korn (made on site), Italian ice, fresh cut & potted flowers & herbs, planters, & hand crafted items.

The Old Saybrook Farmers' Market has the distinction of being one of 10 area farmers' markets participating in the newly created Connecticut Farmers' Market Trail.  The Farmers' Market Trail is a tour de force of special places well stocked with farm-fresh foods and those made with passion using local produce,
where one will meet people who enjoy creating things that matter.

We'll be kicking off the market with a "Reading Celebration" along with "Music of the Waters" performed by Geoff Kaufman.  We have 6 different Connecticut Authors who will be joining us as we promote reading in our "Reading Celebration"!  The Old Saybrook Library will be there in full force hosting activities for the kids.  To go along with the theme, we will be collecting gently used children's books to donate to the St. Francis Clinic in Hartford.  They have a wonderful program called "Reach Out & Read" which allows children to pick out a free book to take home with them when they come to the clinic to see the doctors.  It promotes reading along with staying
healthy!

Geoff Kaufman's sea shanties will remind everyone of days gone by as they stroll through the market.  We have something for everyone so come on down and "Get what's fresh!".

We have weekly entertainment/demos throughout the whole season!  For more information, check out our website at "oldsaybrookfarmersmarket.com", find us on Facebook & become a fan, or call Chris Bassette, Market Master, at 860-833-0095!  See you there!  For more information about the Connecticut Farmers' Market Trail visit "farmersmarkettrail.com".
