Rachelee Faughnan, age 93, of Madison, passed away on May 16, 2014, surrounded by her family at her home.
The beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Faughnan, she was born on September 5, 1920, in Linton, Indiana, to the late John and Grace (Arnett) Ledgerwood.
Before her marriage, Rachelee worked for the Arabian American Oil Company (ARAMCO), in San Francisco and New York.
She and her husband settled in Wilton, Connecticut, where they raised their three daughters before moving to Madison in 1986.
Rachelee was an active member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Wilton, and more recently attended St. Margaret Church in Madison.
She especially enjoyed vacationing in Maine, but her greatest joy came from her family.
Rachelee is survived by her daughter Mary Ann and her husband Robert C. Safner of Lunenburg, Massachusetts, daughters Nancy and Kathleen of Madison, and granddaughters Victoria and Irina Safner.
Family and friends may visit the Swan Funeral Home 825 Boston Post Road Madison on Sunday May 18 from 4-7pm.
The mass of Christian burial will be Monday May 19, at 9:30am at St. Margaret Church, Academy Street, in Madison.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice or Forgotten Felines of Connecticut.
