Did you see a group of people at Hammonasset moving in slow motion towards the Sound? They were being led by Suzanne Hanley in a Tai Chi class. Join the next one and yoga, too!

The Friend of Hammonasset have been working to bring more programs to Hammonasset.

This past Saturday was our first 'Tai Chi by the Sea' at Meigs Point. About 30 people came. What great attendance! This program wil be repeated on July 7 at 10.

We meet at the Nature Center. In the event of rain, the program will be held in thd picnic pavilion.

The Tai Chi instructor is Suzanne Hanley 203-444-2856 suzannehanley001@gmail.com.

From Suzanne's pamphlet: "tai chi is an ancient Chinese practice.  Because of it's soft and gentle movements, it can be done by anyone at any age.  In Chinese, Tai Chi means supreme ultimate, referring to the possible effects one realizes when practicing this mind-body movement."

"Suzanne has studied Tai chi for over 20 years. Her first teacher, Ralph Johnson, owner of Foodworks, introduced Suzanne to this life-enhancing practice during her battle with breast cancer. Little did she know, at the time, that this would become her life's passion. Suzanne parlayed her years of experience and training into developing two forms of special tai chi programs to engage people at all fitness levels and abilities. "
