CT Wolf Pack Pee Wee Minor Hockey Team Raises Money for Brian's Hope

Local Hockey Players Raise $2,500 for Brian's Hope!

The CT Wolf Pack Pee Wee Minor Hockey Team raised $2,500 for Brian’s Hope.  They personally gave their donation to Brian Kelley, for whom the charity was named, and his parents, Jean and Jack Kelley, at the Hammerfest Triathlon at The Owenego Beach Club on Sunday, September 16, 2012.  Following the check presentation, the boys, their coaches, and some parents participated in a one mile Fun Run.

Inspired by their son, the Kelley Family of Branford formed Brian’s Hope, a charitable foundation whose mission is “Stopping the progression of adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD).” Brian’s Hope believes that education, newborn screening, early intervention, (including administration of Lorenzo’s Oil), and medical research can eventually drastically limit the number of children who will suffer from the devastating neurological disease of ALD, a progressive disorder that results from myelin degeneration. For more information on Brian’s Hope, please visit their website at: http://www.BriansHope.org.

The hockey players, all born in 2001, wanted to participate in this event to raise awareness of ALD and do their part to help others.  They hope to participate in the triathlon next year!
