Neighbors...Coming and Going.

Yesterday we said goodbye to one of our neighbors, as the movers filled up a truck with boxes that contained thirty something years of family life, bound for their new home in Florida. Even the dogs had a goodbye.

We welcomed home another neighbor family from their long vacation out west.

This morning, I drove our tired Tuesday morning teens to the high school with a bit of mellow conversation.

This morning I sipped my morning coffee and looked out the window and reminisced, watching the kids playing games until they heard the rumble of the school bus and raced to jump aboard.

I opened an e-mail this morning, a reminder from Madison Beach and Recreation of the last day of the ski bus season is today.

In our mailbox this afternoon, a letter from Madison Beach and Recreation to notify us of the boat and kayak fees for the 2012 season.

It seemed as though paths were crossing right before my eyes.

Our old neighbors, who have been here since we moved in, are almost halfway to their destination in Florida. Soon, we'll have a new young family moving in to create new memories in a house they will make their own.

Our teenagers seem relieved as ski bus wraps up the season, not the snowy winter of years past. Wiped out from late hours, less than great sleep, they're groggy and seemingly sleepwalking before school...a far cry from the enthusiasm of earlier years, like our neighbors today, shrieking with excitement as their school bus approached!

Ski bus is over. Sailing soon begins! 

Coming and going. Endings. Beginnings. The beach is warm. It's the last day of ski bus. Crocuses are popping up. Snow is on it's way. Sailing season begins. Coming. Going. We don't know whether we're coming or going!
