LOCAL BUSINESSES FORM 'PROJECT UNDERDOG' TO HELP RESCUED ANIMALS
Project Underdog helps 'hard to adopt' dogs become 'ADOPTED' dogs!
Jade Giuggio of Polite Paws, LLC in Branford, Trish Begley of Shoreline Pet Lodge in Branford, Photographer Kathryn Schauer, of Kathryn Schauer Photography in Guilford, and Jennifer Broderick of Modern Dog in Madison have come together to form a new initiative called Project Underdog. Project Underdog is a collaborative effort to help local rescued animals find their "forever homes" sooner. The group's mission specifically focuses on 'hard to adopt' dogs and provides training, grooming, photography, and dog supplies to those dogs who need a little extra help being adopted.
Polite Paws Training will offer one-on-one sessions with the adoptable dog to learn basic commands and deal with any issues preventing the dog from being adopted. These sessions will potentially continue after adoption to deal with the transition into the new home. The Modern Dog will supply training treats for Polite Paws' use, and a a new collar and ID once the dog is adopted.
Shoreline Pet Lodge will offer a luxurious spa treatment including a shampoo, trim and nail clipping. Once the dog has had the works at the spa, Kathryn Schauer Photography will capture the animal's best features for use for adoption purposes.
