Rugby: Madison Wins Big!

A very windy, sunny, warm spring beach day setting at Surf Club for a late afternoon match against the newly formed West Harford Black Heart Rugby team. The Madison Rugby Club took the initial kickoff and never looked back. 38 unanswered points put Madison to the advantage 60 minutes into the match. West Hartford scored their only try… 5 points with 5 minutes left in the game. After 70 minutes of play (high school time/men’s time is 80 minutes) we saw Madison 38 v 5 to finish with class and focus. Although a good individual effort by a Black heart player for the 5 points… the majority of the match was dominated by Madison’s pack
winning almost every scrum…including theirs, lineout’s and open play.
