Incredible Accent Colors!

Another blog on color??? Yes!!  As I said in my last blog, this is one of THE most important parts of decorating. It is also the area I find most people have trouble with! This is another picture from New England Home Magazine (if you haven't checked them out you should - great ideas!). Just look at how color has been used here!!

First, lets start with the walls. These walls are also darker - notice a theme! - I love the dark grey almost purple color they use.  Here again, they have used neutrals for their furniture and window treatment to off-set the darkness of the walls. What makes this different? I love what the introduction of an accent color can do!  Most people are using only one or at most two colors (yes, neutral is considered a color!).  Look at what the introduction of a bright accent color does! Your eye is just drawn to the green shade and pillow! The red pillow just adds to the fun! Think of this room without those accent colors - all the pizzaz would be gone!
