Boring Basement??

Boring basement? Check my blog for help! j

Is your basement boring? Does it make you depressed to go down there? Well, there is hope!!  With some thoughtful planning you can change from boring to beautiful and make this a room everyone enjoys using!  It doesn't matter if it's a bonus room for your kids to hang out or an exercise room for yourself - it can be done!

I love this basement picture for two reasons - it looks great but more importantly it is a typical basement! Note the ceiling and lack of windows!! This could be a dreary room (most are!) but look how inviting it is!  In decorating this area the priority is to keep things light! Notice the colors of the walls and ceiling. The ceiling is great - they painted it a light color AND they did not do an expensive tile ceiling.  This helps give extra height to the room which helps make the room feel better! The walls have been sheetrocked so you get rid of that ugly concrete and the floor has been carpeted with a light color. All this brightness allows you to bring in fun "pops" of color with the sofa and chair. Another note - make sure you have great lighting - the ceiling cans are very important in keeping dreariness at bay!

I hope you are now ready to tackle your basement! Yes, you can go from dreary to fun! Let me know how you do! j

That's the farthest thing from the truth I've ever heard. All the students of the class of 2013 wentRead More through similar things last year. It was a harmless prank. Stop posting about kids who are graduating and are making the best of their last few days at Hand. Grow up. Stop complaining about absolutely nothing.

Are you kidding? This is a ridiculous accusation. I'm a current Junior at Hand, and was walking toRead More my car when this happened. 1) the people who didn't want to get wet CROSSED THE STREET. Where the water balloons couldn't reach, and took the long way around. Also, they rolled their windows up to prevent someone from getting the inside of their car wet 2.) I watched Zittoun yell at the seniors countless times, but they are no longer under his control technically, as they've all finished exams and are done with school. Our school's officer was directing traffic at the intersection. Stop taking everything your kid says as fact. Jesus.
