Santa Claus Is Coming To Town! Temporary Road Closures In Madison Sunday Due To Parade, Tree Lighting

Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes during the events.

From the Madison Chamber of Commerce:

The Madison Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Christmas Parade and Santa visits will take place on Sunday, December 8th.

In a break from tradition, the visits with Santa Claus will take place BEFORE the parade.  Santa will be available for children's visits from 1:30 to 3:30pm on the porch of the Cafe Allegre, 725 Boston Post Road, Madison.

The parade will begin at  4pm at the eastern end of the Stop & Shop parking lot, march up Samson Rock & continue down the Post Road, through the center of town and end at the Town Green for the tree lighting.

This year', people are encouraged to march in the parade to help usher Santa into town.  Participants may start at the beginning of the parade route or join in the fun along the way, and pets are welcome.
Luminarias will light the parade route so that  parade participants and Santa can find their way.  Caroling and cocoa will accompany the tree lighting.

For more information, or to register to be in the parade, please contact Eileen Banisch at the Madison Chamber of Commerce: 203.245.7394 or chamber@madisonct.com.  More details and a list of parade sponsors can be found at madisonct.com.

These events are co-sponsored by the Madison Beach & Recreation Department.

Route One will be closed to westbound traffic between 4pm and 4:30pm for the Christmas Parade, which will end up at the Green for the tree lighting. Many thanks to the Madison Department of Police Services for their help with these events.
