We are looking for volunteers to join the Friends of Hammonasset Trails Committee for work on the Moraine Trail at Meigs Point. The Dune grass planting in March went so fast with so many helpers. We could use a good turnout for this project, too.
The Trail Comm. has planned a work party from 9-12. Volunteers will trim brush encroaching on the Moraine Trail, to the east of the Meigs Pt parking lot (east of Pebble Beach). A small area where the path is a bit uneven will also be improved. This will entail repositioning some rocks.
Please bring work gloves, clippers, loppers, metal rakes and a long pry bar if you own one).
Refreshments will be provided at the Nature Center at noon.
For those of you who participated in the West Beach dune grass planting, your efforts have been most successful. The area looks as though its been there a long time!
