Madison Lyric Stage Presents Concert for Voice, Oboe and Piano

MADISON LYRIC STAGE TO PRESENT PIPING DOWN THE VALLEYS WILD,  

A CONCERT FOR VOICE, OBOE AND PIANO

Saturday, February 22 at 7:30 p.m.

Madison Lyric Stage will present Piping Down The Valleys Wild, a concert
for voice, oboe and piano on Saturday, February
22 at 7:30 p.m.
at the Shoreline
Unitarian Universalist Society
located at 297 Boston Post Road in Madison, CT. The evening will feature works by Bach, Saint-Saens, Vaughan Williams and Mahler, and will be performed by tenor Marc Deaton, oboist Cheryl Wefler, and pianist Michael Fennelly.  Suggested admission is $20. 


Marc Deaton and Michael Fennelly are well-known to Madison Lyric Stage audiences.  Deaton is an internationally renowned tenor whose latest CD Marc Deaton Wagner is available on the Centaur label.  Fennelly is an acclaimed pianist who recently toured Japan for the U.S. State Department and has performed in many of the world’s great concert halls, including Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Hall.


Oboist Cheryl Wefler will be appearing with Madison Lyric Stage for the first time. She currently plays with the Eugene Symphony, the Oregon Mozart Players and Eugene Opera Orchestras. She has played with orchestras in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio,North Carolina, New Jersey, New York and Washington, DC. Her business, Cascade Oboe Reeds, provides quality reeds to clients across the United States and abroad. Her book, “Principals and Techniques of Oboe Reed Adjustment” has sold all over the world.
