In the first of the lectures, scheduled for Sunday, February 10, and entitled "Salt Water, Flying Horses and the Savin Rock Devil: Beachgoers, Tycoons, and Thrill-Seekers on the Connecticut Coast," come to learn about the many seasonal migrants to the shoreline from nearby cities and from New York and Boston. Presenter Diana Ross McCain, Head of the Research Center at the Connecticut Historical Society and author of The Connecticut Coast: A Town-by-Town Illustrated History (Globe Pequot Press, 2009), will tell how folks traveled here and why they came.
