Anne heywood Pastel Demonstration

The Madison Art Society and the Clinton Art Society are co-sponsoring  a pastel demonstration by Anne Heywood on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at the Scranton Memorial Library inthe Community Room, Madison Ct at 2:00 pm.  It is located at 801 Boston Post Road, Route One, Madison, Ct and the public is invited.  Nominal donations are appreciated.  Anne Heywood is asignature and founding member of the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod, signature member of thePastel Society of America and theConnecticut Pastel Society, and artist member of theCopley Society, theSalmagundi Club, and theNational Association of Women Artists. Her educational background includes a B.A.summa cum laude in art. She is listed in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in American Women. 

Heywood works in her studios in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, and Waldoboro, Maine. She accepts commissions for custom paintings and pet portraits and offers workshops, lectures, and demonstrations. Her works can be found in both national and international corporate and private collections; she is represented by theWilson & Heywood Gallery in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Anne paints both modern and traditional subjects in realistic yet simple terms, thereby provoking thought while creating a sense of mood and character. Her paintings and drawings are noted for their strong compositions and natural color palettes, as well as their beauty—a reflection of her life spent in New England and Italy.

Heywood is author and illustrator of the bookPastels Made Easy (Watson-Guptill, 2003). She has over 25 years’ experience painting, offering workshops, lectures, and demonstrations. Her paintings and drawings are in private, corporate, and public national and international collections. Heywood is a recipient of the International Association of Pastel Societies’ prestigiousMasters Circle Award, along with thePastel Society of America'sHolbein Award, and theSalmagundi Club's George Inness, Jr., Memorial Award. Her paintings, drawings, and writings have been published in international books and magazines such as“Australian Artist”, The Best of Pastel, and “American Artist Magazine”.
