Community Clam/Oyster Dig

COMMUNITY CLAM/OYSTER DIG
, 12noon to 3pm, Surf Club, Madison.

The Madison Shellfish Commission is sponsoring its annual End of the Summer
Community Clam Dig event. The Commission plans to feature Madison raised
Oysters for this event, you don't want to miss these beauties. This is
a family friendly event with a special area designated for small children,
and prizes will be awarded to the lucky individuals that find the painted
clams. No experience is required, members of the commission will supply
rakes and demonstrate clamming techniques for beginners.  A shellfish
license is required and can be purchased on site at the Surf Club on the
day of the event. Licences are also sold at the Town Campus and Captain
Morgan’s.  For out of town visitors, special one day $25 passes will
be available on the day of the event at the Surf Club. This event is weather
permitting, check the Shellfish hot line at 245-5600, option 3 for conditions.
The event is at Gavin Point and parking at the Surf Club is open to the
public.
