Wind Advisory From 10 a.m. Sunday To Midnight Sunday Night, NWS Says

"These winds could cause blowing snow, reducing visibilities to below 1 mile at times."

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory from 10 a.m. Sunday to midnight Sunday night for coastal Connecticut, Long Island, New York City and other areas nearby.

Winds northwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected. "The strongest winds are expected from Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening. Winds this strong, in addition to make travel difficult at times, could bring down branches and some tree limbs. In addition, in areas receiving snowfall, these winds could cause blowing snow, reducing visibilities to below 1 mile at times."

Western Connecticut will see lighter amounts of snow, with the heaviest amounts closer to the Rhode Island border. I feel like most areas across Connecticut, especially east of I-91, will pick up 1 to 3 inches. If anyone did get more snow, that would most likely be confined to southeastern sections, which were under an Advisory.
