Accomplishments: For the past three years Arthur Wilkins has participated in AngelRide, raising money to support The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp's Hospital Outreach Program. This program helps bring the spirit of the Camp to hospitalized children in Connecticut and throughout the northeast.
“Founded in 1988 by Paul Newman, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in Ashford, Connecticut is a nonprofit, residential summer camp and year-round center serving children and their families coping with cancer and other serious illnesses and conditions,” says the Camp’s website.

Wilkins will participate in the 135 mile, Memorial Day weekend bike ride, in the hopes of raising another $1,500 for the cause. This will be added to the $3,000 he raised participating in the ride for the previous two years.
Key to Awesomeness: As a cross country runner, Wilkins is in good shape to take on this arduous charity ride. Even though the terrain is hilly and often difficult, Wilkins will join fellow bikers, for a third year, at the start of the ride in Norfolk, CT in the Northwest corner of the state and ride 85 miles before making an overnight stop at The Hole in the Wall Camp in Ashford. The last leg of his journey will take him 50 miles to the finish line in Mystic. To prepare for this extraordinary mission Wilkins tries to ride his bike, a Specialized road bike, three times a week and he runs to keep in shape.
Wilkins finds the overnight stay at the camp very moving and this is what inspires him to go back every year to raise more money for the children.
