What's The Best Way To Improve Bar Bouchée ? How About More Of The Same, Only Outside?

Bar Bouchée Seeking Permission From Town To Add 16 Seats On Patio Outside During Summer; If Granted, That Would Bring Total Number Of Seats To About 36

Members of the town's Planning and Zoning Commission met at Bar Bouchée on Tuesday evening, just in time for dinner.

But dinner was not on the menu for them. Instead, they met with Bar Bouchée General Manager Claude Martin to discuss the bistro's plan to put up a railing around the outside patio and create seating for about 16 more people.

Members of the commission will meet again Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at town campus to discuss the request for a site plan modification for patio seating.

Martin said there currently are about 20 seats inside and that the goal is to have the patio seating available "as quickly as possible"  to take advantage of the good weather. Martin said the full menu will be available to those seated outside, along with special summer dishes that are currently under development.

What a great idea! After the winter we just had, we need to enjoy the outdoors this summer 24-7!

Sounds like a delicious idea to me.

It is great to see the positive response to this new addition to Madison. I am confused about the lack of parking. I thought it was appoved initially because of the access to the parking lot across from the front entry, but now I see that there are signs posted in that lot that say parking only for that building. It is difficult to find parking now and I often pass by while cars are doing interesting (and dangerous) manuvering to try and figure out where to park. This needs to be looked into before any additional seating is considered. Lets go back to the original approval conditions and see what they were and why there is not enough parking, before we add additional seating.

Good questions, Joe. I'll try to find out more about the parking.
