"Hello! I have searched the discussion boards and found only a very few mentions of great places to eat for a romantic meal in my area (Madison, CT). I should clarify that I'm not looking for someplace overly formal or that could be considered stuffy. Formal attire is ok, we just want to be relaxed and have a great meal. I'd really love to try some place new which is why I've turned to all of you here. I'm looking for some place somewhat near Madison, CT to go for a great lunch or dinner, with great staff, and great dessert options. We're open to different types of cuisine, but some comfort food is a plus. We want something special but comfortable and delicious."

Suggestions so far include , , and several other great restaurants near Madison, including Cafe Routier in Westbrook, Le Petit Cafe in Branford, and Foe in Branford. Another recommendation is Union League in New Haven, which is run by the same people as Bar Bouchee.

I'd agree with both Madison suggestions. I'm a huge fan of Bar Bouchee and have never had a bad meal at Perfect Parties. Both are elegant, not stuffy and, with the right crowd, lots of fun. Formal attire is fine, but definitely not required. I like the bar at , and would also include Tacuba in Branford for those who are looking for something fun and different.

On Facebook, Nancy R. Hoag suggested " romance package!!!" Dyan Salemi agreed, also on Facebook, "The Scranton Seahorse Inn does it for me!!!" she said.

The inn is another great idea. It has a Chocolate Lovers Package that starts at $170 that says it's for "lovestruck and chocolate lovers alike," that includes "a one night stay in one of our romantic guest rooms where a handful of chocolate surprises await you ... The chocolate doesn’t stop there! Enjoy some chocolate specialties during breakfast in the morning." There also is the Madison Dinner Date package that starts at $500. For more information about their packages, you can check out their website.
