TV Tips For Aug. 3: So You Think You Can Dance, Rescue Me, How Sharks Hunt

So You Think You Can Dance, 8 p.m., Fox

Lady Gaga was an awesome judge, if for no other reason than she wore 4-foot tall boots and did not care at all if Nigel was talking. Plus she cried. Even more hilarious than Gaga on Wednesday night, though, was the fact that they tried to tell us that she was performing live on Thursday night. Yeah, they built that set in the time it takes to show us a Papa John’s commercial. No surprises really in the ouster, as we are simply mowing them down on our way to the Melanie-Sasha finale. And I, like Mary Murphy, would like to give a shout out to the Al-Stars, especially Neil.

Rescue Me, 10 p.m., FX

The final season. I’m not watching, and haven’t for years, but I hope if you still like this show that it is good.

How Sharks Hunt, 9 p.m., Discovery

It’s Shark Week, of course, and we have to stop in and see what’s up, but we aren’t staying long because we are huge weenies and if we watch too much we won’t be able to go swimming anymore. Like this, for example: “Sharks' unique ferocity and specialized methods of hunting make the animals perfect killing machines.” See? Not watching. Like swimming.
