Campers And Visitors To Hammonasset Beach State Park Don't Let Tornado Watch, Heavy Rain, Lightning And Thunder Ruin Their Day

Life quickly got back to normal in Madison after a dramatic display of rain, thunder, and lightning a little after 5 p.m. Wednesday.

People who had dashed off athletic fields, or huddled under canopies as the rain came pouring down ventured back out and resumed their activites. A tornado watch was in effect from around 1 p.m. to about 8 p.m.

Around 6 p.m., walkers, joggers, beach combers, and campers at Hammonasset had resumed their activities.
