Thunderstorm Watch For Madison In Effect Until 10 p.m. Tuesday

But Wednesday is looking good, so far ...

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 10 p.m. for New Haven county and most of Connecticut, the National Weather Service said.

In addition to New Haven county, Fairfield, Hartford, Middlesex, New London, Tolland, and Windham counties are included in the watch, the NWS said.

As of 2:45 p.m., the weather in Madison was sunny, with blue skies and moderate temperatures the high 70's and low 80's. In other words, it looked like a perfect day.

But the National Weather service said low pressure was moving across southern Canada and northern New England today and tonight, "dragging a cold front across the area this evening." That could bring unsettled weather with it.

"High pressure [which often brings stable, good weather] builds back in on Wednesday and moves offshore Wednesday night," the NWS said. "Low pressure and a cold front approaches on Thursday and slowly moves through the region late Thursday through Friday. High pressure then returns for the weekend and builds through the region into the start of the new week."
