Preliminary Thanksgiving Day Forecast .... Sunny

We still have a few days to go, so it could change, but so far, it looks like perfect weather for the Turkey Trot.

The National Weather system says a high pressure system is building just south of us through Friday night, then will slide east into the mid-Atlantic through Saturday night.

"A cold front approaches from the West on Sunday, then passes through Sunday night, followed by high pressure building in from the north early next week," the NWS says. "A storm system then affects the region during the mid-week period."

If we're lucky, that storm system won't move in early and ruin Thanksgiving. The current forecast for Thursday, Nov. 24, is sunny with a high around 48 degrees, perfect for anyone planning to take advantage of the Turkey Trot before the big meal, or perhaps a family football game or walk around the block after the feast.
