Midwestern Sis Looking For The Best Lobster Roll In Connecticut

Let's help her out here.

As someone who originally hails from Toledo, Ohio, I understand as few native New Englanders can the delight that the first bite of an authentic lobster roll can bring. Our Midwestern childhood treats might have included foot-long hot dogs from the A&W drive in, Skyline 3-ways, or Tony Packos Pickle and Peppers. But how can that possibly compare to a lobster roll? And a really, good lobster roll can be really hard to find in the middle of the country.

So, when I read this recent post on Chowhound, naturally I wanted to help:

My sister, who now lives in the midwest, is visiting and wants a lobster roll. She prefers the cold kind, the lobster salad ones ... Me, I like my lobster rolls hot w/butter or cold as salad and as long as the meat is fresh and sweet and as long as it isn't swimming in too much butter, I'm happy. But Sis is more particular ... Where do you suggest we go for a good lobster roll, nay a great one. We are starting from the New Haven area, but do not mind heading up the coast. We'll go as far as Stonington, but would like to stay in CT.

Suggestions nearby include , , and in Clinton.
