According to the Beach & Recreation Department, a wide range of civic groups generally attend with about 400 to 500 people participating in past Green Up Clean Up Days.

Laura Bazenas, the den leader for Cub Scout Trooop 495 in North Madison, says she plans to have her den of about nine boys participate. "We'll probably do the beach, and then they can play afterwards," she said. "It's a great way for them to work towards a badge, and get involved in the community."
