- Meeting Room A - Lynn Haney will be presenting on the benefits and practice of journaling.

Thursday 2/10/2011 at 7:00 pm @ Gunner Johnson School of Dance, 786 Boston Post Rd., 3rd floor, Madison - Come experience a really fun and refreshing way to exercise. Dance experts will lead us through instruction on Ballroom Dance. We cannot guarantee that you will be dancing with the stars by the end of the night, but it will be fun to see Dr. John try with his two left feet.


Earn 10 Extra Credit Points by Improving your Body - Fish is a really, healthy source of protein that can be a good substitute for red meat and poultry. Give yourself 10 extra credit points for incorporating fish into your meals three times this week.

MADE Asset Building Tip of the Week - The fourth group of assets is focused on constructive use of time. It is important to help kids find activities that help them use their time constructively. All kids need access to quality programs and activities that enrich their lives, develop their talents and interests, and help them develop healthy relationships.
These can include: ·

  • Music
  • Drama and other arts
  • Sports and hobbies
  • Involvement in church, synagogue, temple, or other religious community.

It is also important for them to spend time at home

  • Encouraging our youth to engage in creative activities
  • Encouraging kids to spend three or more hours a week in sports, clubs, or organizations
  •  Encouraging and supporting kids in spending time in activities in a religious institution 
  • Encouraging kids to spend time at home and avoiding time out with "nothing special to do"

SMOOTHIE RECIPES!

A smoothie is a perfect way to begin your day or to have as a great mid-day boost. Blend in a little flax seed oil or Omega 3 oil for added nutrients. It's an expenditure of time and money that will pay you back with energy for your day!

Nutty Peach Smoothie
1 cup apple juice
5 or 6 slices of peach
1-1/2 tablespoons of walnuts
Sweeten with honey to taste
Blend and add ice or water to create the consistency you like.

1/2 organic banana
Handful of blueberries
1 cup chopped strawberries
1-2 leaves of kale, stems removed
1/2 cup shredded carrots
