King Tide Wednesday Could Create Some Coastal Flooding

Onshore winds and tides could combine to generate flooding of low areas along shoreline, National Weather Service says.

A coastal flood advisory is in effect from 8 a.m. to noon on Wednesday for the coastline along southwest Connecticut including Madison and Clinton, the National Weather Service says.

"Tidal departures will be .25 to .50 feet above astronomical tide Wednesday morning," the National Weather Service says. "Tide levels will slightly exceed minor coastal flood advisory levels during  high tide cycle Wednesday morning ... onshore winds and tides will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.

High tide in Madison and Clinton will be around 10:42 a.m. Wednesday.

Tuesday night: Increasing clouds, with a low around 42. North wind between 3 and 7 mph.

Wednesday: A chance of light rain, mainly after 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 62. West wind between 5 and 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Wednesday Night: Rain likely, mainly after 3am. Cloudy, with a low around 47. West wind between 5 and 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Thursday: Rain. High near 51. North wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Thursday Night: Rain likely, mainly before 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35. North wind between 10 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 51.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 35.

Saturday: A chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 50. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Saturday Night: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 37. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 51.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 38.

Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 52.

Monday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 41.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 56.
