The 2012 Madison Youth Cheer Tigers are starting out as winners, and looking again for your support.

After multiple wins and a trip to Nationals last year, but still required to adhere to the age requirements of American Youth Cheer, only two teams could be formed. Division 13, with 16 cheerleaders, and Division 12 with a whopping 35 cheerleaders!

Unlike last year, where the teams formed late, the 2012 Tigers started practices on August 1st working outside at the Surf Club, then later, inside at Polson, and at Between the Lines in Clinton, (to take advantage of the larger floor space). The girls even practiced during the no-school days after Hurricane Sandy (while some of their own were still without power, or living away from their homes due to storm damage).

This past Saturday, November 10th, the two Tiger cheer teams headed out to the state competition in Shelton. Both teams came home with 2nd place trophies after excellent and hard fought performances.

Over the next week and a half, both teams will be doing a bit of tweaking and lots, and lots, of practicing, before the regional competition at the Dunkin' Donuts center in Providence, RI on November 24th, the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend.

In an effort to help defray the costs of travel to state, regional and (with all due deference and confidence), a trip to the AYC National competition in Orlando, Florida; There will be a Wine and Beer tasking Fundraiser, Presented by the Madison Wine Shop and Southport Brewing Company with all proceeds to support the Madison Youth Cheerleaders this coming Friday evening, November 16, 2012, from 7:00pm – 10:00pm at the Madison Winter Club, 251 Boston Post Road in Madison.

The cost is $40 per person (Advance Purchase Only, Space is Limited). Tickets Can Be Purchased From The Madison Wine Shop.
