Connecticut's largest shoreline park as stopped charging gate fees for the day, so this is a great time to go down and cool off!!
Hammonasset Beach State Park has stopped charging gate fees, according to its Twitter feed.
Just before 5 p.m. the park sent out the following tweet: "The park has stopped charging the gate fees. Come down and cool off. Stay safe in this heat!!!"
That's two miles of beach, cool ocean breezes, a boardwalk, fishing, shady walking trails, all free today!
