East Hampton Death Ruled a Homicide

Police Chief Confirms Newington Search Related To Death Of Jaclyn Fitzgerald

The death of Jaclyn Fitzgerald has been ruled a homicide, East Hampton Police said Sunday. Fitzgerald, 24, was found deceased in her home on 30 Namonee Trail in East Hampton on Friday.

The investigation into her death is active. The circumstances indicate this is not a random crime but no further information was made available.

On Saturday, police from East Hampton and Newington joined a state police crime squad for an investigation at a Southfield Apartment complex in Newington, state police spokesman Lt. J. Paul Vance said.

East Hampton Police Chief Matt Reimondo confirmed Sunday to The Hartford Courant that the search in Newington was related to the death of Fitzgerald. 

Neighbors said police were at the complex at 85 Faith Road, going in and out of Apt. 283 for several hours.
