Over The Course Of The Month-Long Fundraiser, That Added Up To About 9,556 Cups Of Coffee And Drinks Sold, All For A Great Cause

Organizers of a month-long fundraiser at Cumberland Farms in Madison for Nite In Hand had hoped to bring in about $1,000. But the fundraiser instead brought in almost double that amount, for a grand total of $1,911.40 raised to help fund the event, which is designed to help keep graduating seniors safe and happy on graduation night.

Cumberland Farms Senior Regional Manager Mike Martone said the company was glad to "make a contribution to the community that patronizes us."

"It's all about doing something for the children," he said. "We have a good relationship with the community and we're happy to help out."

Twenty cents from every coffee and fountain drink sold during the month-long fundraiser was donated to the cause.  Alisa Masterson, Nite In Hand co-chair, said she too was very happy with the results of the fundraiser. Masterson is one of three co-chairs of the event this year, with Joan Sauvigne Kirsch and Dale Lehman.

"We are excited about all the support that folks in Madison have given to the new Cumberland Farms, and through them, to Nite in Hand," Masterson said. "The nearly $2000 that will be donated by Cumberland Farms as a result  of drink purchases will go a long way towards helping to make the Nite in Hand event in June a big success!  We really appreciate the way in which Cumberland Farms is supporting our community and actively participating in the life of Madison.  And the new store is a wonderful addition to the downtown…it is just great!"
