Complicated Forecast Begins To Look A Little Less Dire For Shoreline

Stilll, it's worth keeping an eye on the forecast if you have any big plans this weekend.

For the ice- and snow-weary shoreline, the forecast for the weekend is beginning to look a little less dire. Initial forecasts that included the possibility of a big snowstorm are now focusing on the possibility of accumulations of around a half inch of so.

Snow is expected Saturday midday-afternoon with temperatures in the 30s. This will be a wet snow variety. Slush likely on roads in the afternoon. The complicated part of this involves the changeover line from snow to rain first along the shoreline then working inland. The ECMWF model does change the snow over to rain and a mix for at least the shoreline and central Connecticut. Higher elevation areas north of a line from Waterbury to Hartford to Plainfield may stay snow and ice longer which will add up to more! The whole storm moves out from West to East Sunday Morning.
