11th Annual Women’s Health Conference Coming in March

The Women & Family Life Center, along with Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman presents the Annual Women's Health Conference at the Omni Hotel. This year's theme is "Make One Change."

The Women & Family Life Center, in partnership with Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman, presents the 11th Annual Women's Health Conference at the Omni Hotel in New Haven, CT on Sunday, March 3, 2013, from 8:30 am to 4 pm. The theme of this year’s conference is “Make One Change” and features sessions devoted to helping women learn how to make small changes that can produce big health benefits.  The conference is Connecticut’s premiere health event for women, providing a holistic approach to women’s health issues and many opportunities for dialogue with leading health experts.

Keynote speaker Claire Criscuolo, noted restaurateur and philanthropist and founder of Claire’s Corner Copia and Basta Trattoria in New Haven, will speak about how women can improve their lives by making just one change.  The high-energy day will conclude with a lively group salsa class conducted by presenter Alisa Bowens, a classically trained dancer and instructor.

Conference attendees will enjoy a healthy breakfast and lunch and can choose from nearly 20 hands-on workshops and informative discussions led by health and wellness professionals.  Sessions include opportunities to try new exercise routines, plan healthier menus, and learn how to de-stress and enhance emotional well being. Participants will take home practical ideas for making nutritional and other health changes. Free health screenings, one-on-one consultations, and an Expo & Marketplace also will be available throughout the conference.

Cost of registration is $75 prior to February 5, $90 thereafter and $75 for seniors.  Numerous volunteer opportunities are available.  Online registration is available at www.womenandfamilylife.org. For information on volunteer opportunities or to become an expo vendor, contact 203-458-6699.
