Tigers Will Attempt to Rebound Tonight Against Hillhouse

Last year the dominance of the SCC over all the other high school football conferences was obvious.  Three of the four 2012 State Champions were from the SCC; Hand (L), Xavier (LL) and Hillhouse (M).  Two of those champions will meet tonight at 6:30 pm at Veteran's Field in West Haven and one will go home 0-2.

Last week the New Canaan Rams thoroughly dominated the Hand Tigers and ended the Tigers active win streak at 26 games.  Ironically the last team to beat hand was also New Canaan in the 2010 State Semi-finals.  The final score was 50-21 (it wasn't that close).  See this recap on gametimect.com for details.

Hillhouse fell to Darien 46-26 last week in their SCC-FCIAC Challenge game. Their all-star running back, Harold Cooper left the game with an injury. Hillhouse had a coaching change in the off-season.  Head coach Tom Dyer left to take the Athletic Director's job at Hamden.  Assistant coach Reggie Lytle took over this Summer.

Is it desperation time already for the Tigers? No, not really.  It's only week two.  The best thing that can be can be done about last week is to forget about it.  New Canaan was a better team in every phase of the game. There is no time to waste worrying about that now.  The SCC schedule is about to begin.
