DHHS Girls Tennis Team Defeats Amity, Ends Regular Season On High Note

The winning tradition of the DHHS Girls tennis team continues as this years squad dominates opponents and turns back powerhouse Amity in season finale.


The 2012 DHHS Girls Tennis Team, coached by Kitty Palmer, Wednesday revenged an earlier season loss to rival Amity winning 5-2 and ends the regular season with a record of 15-1.

Total match score for the season was an amazing 105-7. Led by Seniors Taylor Fay and Callie Swiggett the girls are headed into the SCC and State tournaments in a great position to win and repeat as State Champs.

The Tigers and the Spartans will probably see each one more time in SCC tournament , which Amity defeated Hand in last years final.

Season records include: 1st singles, Taylor Fay 16-0, 2nd singles, Rachel Petrini 14-2, 3rd singles, Melissa Parker 14-2, 4th singles, Megan Sosensky 15-1, 1st Doubles, Claudia Lohn and Gabby Diotalevi 16-0, 2nd Doubles, Callie Swiggett and Nicole Cahill 16-0, 3rd Doubles, Alyssa Fleischman, Chloe Squitero, Anna Beatty, and C.C. Cuningham 14-2.
