A Christmas Rescue

A cat had been stuck in a tree with Christmas Day being day 3. Animal Control Officer Dawn Buffone had been to resident's house trying to coax the cat down the tree the day before. On Christmas Day ACO Dawn Buffone and Administrative Assistant  Kara Rowell went to see if they could get the cat out of the tree again. When they got there they realized the cat was getting weak and was very cold. They then called the Branford Fire Department and asked if they could assist them with the rescue. Branford Fire Department had a longer ladder and we were finally able to get the cat out of the tree. The cat was brought back to the shelter to get warm and get some food and water. The cat's name is Alexander The Great and he was reunited with his owner the day after Christmas. A great Christmas story with a happy ending :) The Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter wants to wish every one a Happy New Year.
