Always Find a Way to Make a Sale

I’m sure everyone is familiar with the saying:
There is more than one way to skin a deer (Notice what I did there?)

That can be carried over to your photography business as well.
–How many ways can you find to become abundant with your photography?
An Online retail site is imperative.
Exhibiting your work locally and outside your local network.
Creating products and selling them as well:
Cards
Calendars
Photography books

If your photography is important to you, then it is up to you to decide just how far you want to take your talent.  As I have said at this blog previously, art, whatever art you produce isn’t meant to be hidden away, art isn’t also meant to be CONTINUALLY given away.  If you are an artist, if you have been told that you have talent then it is up to you to share that talent and get paid for it as well.

Don’t just rely on selling your images as is.  Your customers are always looking for new ways to display art.  A photo can be shown in a plethora of ways so do your best to produce your art in a variety of mediums.  This will not only create advantages for you, the artist:
–You can sell the same image to the same customer many times over if you display the image in a variety of ways.

This will also offer your customer an advantage in that they have several choices of how to purchase your art.  With the number of ways to create photography books online now growing you’d be foolish NOT to look into this as a project.

Creating calendars online is becoming just as easy and I partnered in November with Soul Dancer, a G+ friend to create a 2014 calendar with my images and his text.  The calendar became such a success that we are co-creating another one in 2014 for the 2015 year.

So what I’m saying is if you have a photography business it is imperative that you find any means possible to sell your photography.  Don’t rely simply on the photo as a means to sell your work.  Get out there and make it happen.
Books
Cards
Calendars

I will leave you with another axiom:
Always be closing.

In other words, always be finding a way to make a sale.

In the mean time:
Focus on what’s ahead of you.

Chris
