Spiritual Blinders

Is there anyone in your life who you'd like to help remove the spiritual blinders from?

In August 2011, my friend, Jessica at Ascending the Hills wrote a column called Lifting Our Spiritual Blinders.  It’s one of the reasons I write my blog.  For those of you have been with me since this blog’s inception you’ll know my original intent was to concentrate solely on Law of Attraction.  A few short months after I started writing here however, my blog took a turn.  I believe that I was NOT in control of that detour.

My blog turned more spiritual, more faith based.  By faith I don’t mean religious.  Anyone who knows me knows I’m far from religious.  I talk about God as I know him.
–God is Love.
–God is Universal.
–God is Benevolent.

When I saw the turn my blog took, I initially felt some trepidation.  Would those people who started out following me continue to do so when they began reading what I was writing about now?  As it turned out I had nothing to fear.  Everyone stayed.  And because I was now expanding my blog to include things spiritual, I picked up some new readers.  Once I became comfortable in my new realm I was given another insight.  My blog took the turn it did to help people move forward, to help people realize there was more to this world then the physical.  That there was a spiritual world we could all tap into as well as long as we knew where to look, as long as we knew HOW to look.

One of the phrases I use constantly when I write about spiritual matters is:
I write this blog to help people remove their spiritual blinders.

Is there someone in your life who you wish would see that the world is more than just a physical manifestation?  Someone you’d like to go to and literally rip the blinders off of?  Show them the REAL world is spiritual?  That we REALLY are spiritual beings having a physical experience?

For me there are two.  They both refuse to see the spiritual world.  I understand from experience that we can’t change others, that we can only change ourselves.  And I have made a radical change in the past several years, becoming much more cognizant of the spiritual world around me.  I have removed my blinders and now that I see, now that I REALLY see, I want to help other see too.  One of the things that comes to mind a result of that last line is a quote from Everybody Loves Raymond.  I’ll have to paraphrase because I couldn’t find the exact quote,.  It came from Recovering Pessimist.  Ray’s brother, Robert says in relation to Ray Sharing some good news:
Why does everyone who converts try to drag everyone else with them?

We see the positive effects being joyful, has on our bodies.  We simply want to share what we know.  I recently read a book called Journey of Souls and I shared the book with one of the people above.  We talked about it a few days ago and they said they’re struggling believing.  They don’t know whether they’ll get back to the book.  I think that’s a shame because what’s going to happen when they reach their transition?  I only hope they see before that time comes.  I’m doing my best to help.  The only thing I can DO is continue living my life they way I am and hopefully they will see by example that there is another realm to this physical world.  It’s my mission in life to help this person remove their spiritual blinders.

Several years ago I was visiting my Dad on Martha’s Vineyard and after I settled in I began searching for the book I was reading at the time:
Brian Weiss’s Many Lives, Many Masters.  When I couldn’t find it I realized that I left it back home in Madison.  My Dad asked me what I was reading and when I told him what the book was about, I could see his demeanor change instantly.

You don’t really believe that do you?  he asked.  He wasn’t too happy with my response.  I gave him points in that book as well as other information I’d accumulated since I became convinced of Past Life theory.  He would have none of it.  Another instance where I feel like I’ve done what I can do, but it’s not enough.  I want these two people to at least accept what I believe.  They don’t necessarily have to believe as well, but I’d love to be able to talk with them about it.  As it stands now I can’t talk to my Dad on The Vineyard because it will just cause more disruption.

At least I can discuss my paradigm with the other person.  They may not accept it but I can carry on a conversation.  For that I feel blessed.

I’ll end with the same question I started with:
Is there anyone in your life who you’d like to help remove the spiritual blinders from?

Be Happy!  Be Well!  Be Positive!
Blessings to you.

Chris
