2 new yoga classes set at Mercy Center

Two new yoga classes will be offered at the Mercy Center beginning Thursday, Oct. 10th. Yoga Basics will be offered from 9 to 10-15 on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Arbor Ridge room at the Neck Road campus. The classes will focus on breathing techniques and poses to promote flexibility, strength and relaxation. The classes are suitable for all levels. Students should bring a mat. The cost is $15 for a drop-in, or $60 for a six-class pass. A one-hour yoga class is also offered from 9-10 a.m. Saturdays on the beach at the Mercy Center while the weather permits. The class will be moved to the Arbor Ridge room later in the fall. Classes are taught by Carolyn Murphy, a certified yoga instructor from Guilford. I have been taking Carolyn's yoga class at the beach since the summer. It was one of my favorite parts of the summer. If you like nonjudgmental, relaxed and flexible yoga instruction, try this class.
