Editor's Note: Here is an update from the R.J. Julia Facebook page asa of 9:10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21: "Hi Friends- thanks for your patience. The store will be opening at 12 NOON today (2 hr delay). If this changes, we will post to FB immediately. Our Pirate Story Time and Scavenger Hunt has been RESCHEDULED to next Sat. 1/28. As of now, the 3rd session with Peter Fox is still on for 3pm. Will keep you informed as the day goes if anything changes. Thank you!"

Voices in the Bookstore

Attention all fans of the written word: Madison-area writers read from their work. Poetry, fiction, essays - all kinds of writers are welcome! 

If you are a writer, sign up in advance to read from a finished piece or a work-in-progress. If you are a fan of new writing and local authors, come to listen. This event is free but advance sign-up is required.

Debut Author Series: Suzanne Corso, Brooklyn Story
Married to the mob - almost.  Brooklyn Story  is Suzanne Corso's debut autobiographical novel about 15-year-old Samantha Bronti and her dreams of crossing the bridge from Bensonhurst to Manhattan. With her Smith-Corona, ambition, good looks, and little else--Sam's Jewish mom is a bitter, drunken mess on welfare, and her Italian dad is long gone--she negotiates the shady world of the "Brooklyn Boys" and deals with what it means to be the girlfriend of mob acolyte Tony Kroon. 

This event is $5.00 and may be used toward the purchase of the book.

Family Game Night at Your Local Family Bookstore!

We'll provide the game, you provide the family!!! RJ Julia's fantastic kids experts will pick a game for families to play right here in the store!! Families can participate as teams or individuals. Snacks will be provided.

 

Family Game Night will take place the last Friday of each month with a different game provided by RJ Julia Booksellers. For families and their children ages 8+.
