The Tuxis Pond Boardwalk that connects the town's main commercial area with Station Square has been closed off with yellow caution tape.
One Madison police officer said he was not immediately aware of anything that had occurred there today.
The boardwalk was closed sometime before 4 pm Monday. There is yellow caution tape blocking off the entrance behind the CVS plaza and the entrance from the Boston Post Road next to the firehouse.
Madison town officials could not be reached late Friday.
